Frequently Asked Questions about our tournament
Is the tournament open to all teams?
Yes. Our tournament is open to all teams. Affiliated teams from US Club Soccer, Cal South, AYSO as well as non-affiliated teams with US Club Soccer tournament insurance.
I have a couple of players I want to invite to play on my team but they are not regular roster players.
No problem. We have unlimited loan players. Just make sure you have that player's paperwork in order.
What is the maximum number of players I can have on my team for the tournament?
Roster size are different per age group. U9/U10 maximum roster size is 15. U11/U15 maximum roster size is 18. For U16/U19 you can have a maximum of 22 players on your roster but only 18 can dress for each game.
Can I add players to my team for the finals?
No. You need to present an official roster before your first game starts. Once your first game starts your roster is frozen and you cannot add players at that time.
Where will the games be played at?
All games will be played at the San Bernardino Soccer Complex in San Bernardino, CA. The San Bernardino Soccer Complex features 17 natural grass fields with dimensions of 108x64 (yards). The San Bernardino Soccer Complex is Southern California's Premier Soccer Facility having hosted National Cup, State Cup and numerous AYSO and Club tournaments in the recent months.
Our coach will be coaching two teams. Can you arrange game schedules so he can coach both team's games?
Yes We Can!. Please inform us when both teams apply. We are here to make your teams experience the best it can be and we will do our best to make it happen.
Will there be more than one Flight\Age Bracket for each age group?
We will try and place teams in flights according to their play level. Our goal is to have teams of the same play level play against each other.
When will finals be played?
All Finals will be played Sunday starting around 12pm. Most teams should be on their way home by 4pm Sunday afternoon.
We applied online but didn't make a payment when we signed up. How can we make a payment?
We have a payment link\button on the top right hand side of our website. You can pay with your Credit or Debit Card. You can also send payment via mail.
Do we need to check our team in the night before the games?
NO! We will check your team's paperwork and player passes 1 hour before your team's first game. Please remember, in order for a player to play you MUST have their paperwork in order. No paperwork, no play!
Will trophies be awarded or just medals?
Teams playing in the finals will be awarded Trophies and Medals. The winning team will receive a Champion's Trophy and players will receive a Gold Medal for their efforts. Finalist will receive a Trophy and players will receive a Silver medal for their efforts.
Will there be any other awards given to players?
Yes. The 2nd Annual Independence Cup Tournament Committee and the Center Referee will choose a Most Valuable Player for each final and they will be presented with a special award at the awards ceremony after their final game.

Is there any special rules to follow for the tournament?
Please visit our Rules page for Tournament Rules. There is a strict NO PET'S OR SMOKING POLICY at the San Bernardino Soccer Complex. Please leave your pets at home.
